Copy the original or the latest motherboard BIOS file to the bootable floppy disk. 4-4 Chapter 4: BIOS setup 4. 1. 3 ASUS EZ Flash 2 utility The ASUS EZ Flash 2 feature allows you to update the BIOS without having to go through the long process of booting from a floppy disk and using a DOS-based utility. The EZ Flash 2 utility is built-in the BIOS chip so it is accessible by pressing <Alt> + <F2> during the Power-On Self Tests (POST). Visit the ASUS website (www. asus. com) to download the latest BIOS file for the motherboard. Save the BIOS file to a floppy disk, then restart the system. You can launch the EZ Flash 2 by two methods. (1) Insert the floppy disk/USB flash disk that contains the BIOS file to the floppy disk drive or the USB port. Press <Alt> + <F2> during POST to display the following. Go to the Tools menu to select EZ Flash 2 and press <Enter> to enable it. You can switch between drives by pressing <Tab> before the correct file is found. Then press <Enter>. 4. Pass DO NOT shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS!Doing so can cause system boot failure! 4. Restart the system after the utility completes the updating process. ASUS Striker 4-9 4. 2 BIOS setup program This motherboard supports a programmable Low-Pin Count (LPC) chip that you can update using the provided utility described in section "4. 1 Managing and updating your BIOS. ASUS Striker 5-33 5. 5 Creating a RAID driver disk A floppy disk with the RAID driver is required when installing Windows® 2000/XP operating system on a hard disk drive that is included in a RAID set. Place the motherboard support DVD into the DVD-ROM drive. From the Make Disk menu, select the RAID driver disk you want to create or browse the contents of the support DVD to locate the driver disk utility.
