The key point of difference in the P5 is the lower bass drive unit,  also present in the P6 but not the P4. It is in fact an extra bass-only drive unit; a 165mm dia Cobex® unit housed in its own separate reflex cavity within the cabinet.

The unusual thing about this unit is that the B&W engineers have deliberately taken the decision to select a lower bass drive unit which has different characteristics to the Kevlar® bass/midrange unit. All trademarks acknowledged.
