6. If there arc any values inputed into it already that the User has not put in there themselves then they should be cleared. This is done by following Steps 7 and 8.

To Change the value in the "COST kWh" Screen, press the "SET" button once in any one of the other five scrcen displays i. e. `QAY, WEEK, MONTH. , YEAR or TOTAL COST" and the tost per kilowatt hour is displayed. To Change any preset values or to Set in new values, press the "+" button and the figure on the right band side will start flashing. To Change this figuxe from 0 to 9 ptess the "+" button. This will increase it by 1 with wery key press. If you accidentally go past the number you wished to Change then keep on ptessing the &+* button as the numbexs go from 0 to 9 and from 9 to 0 so that you tan set the required digit. To Change to the next digit press the "$IW' button. Repeat Steps 7 and 8 until the desired values per kWh arc inserted. If any of the figures do not require changing then simply press the "SKI" key to move to the next one. The previous screen (before Tti setting) will now be displayed showing the "TOTAL COST' as Zero. Plug the Cost Control into the mains supply and then plug the apphance you wish to monitor the tost of into the Cost Control and then.
11. The appliance should be operated as normal - for hints on this setz the «Extra Notes"
section. After the desired time `has Iapsed and a readiig is rquired simply: a) Turn the appliance off. c) Remove the appliance Flom the Cost Control. If, however, further monitoring is required then do not remove the appliance from the Cost Control and the Cost Control fiom the mains socket but simply take the reading whilst they arc all still pluggcd into one another.
13. The readings cm be shown as either:
a) Total tost of the actual dectricity used whilst the appliance was operating and plugged into the Cost Control. Example: The tost to operate appliance %?is 7. 00 per day and after 20 days of operating the appliance, the TOTAL COST is,
b) `Total tost per day,
c) Total tost per week,
d) TotaI tost per month,
e) Total tost per year,
(The example pictures shown assume a daily value of 7. 00 and 7 days per week, 30 days a month and 365 days a year) To altemate between these displays simply press the "DISPLAY" key. because of the time the motor is on and off then it is recommended to keep the appliance plugged into the Cost Control for several days before taking the reading. If a reading is taken after it has turned on and off onIy once then this will not be an accurate reading of its tost OW time. It will only be an accurate readii of the tost of power that it has used in total.
Example 3: Some appliances are used Xrequently, examples could be power tools such
as drihs, kitchen appliances such as food mixers and so on. In cases liie this it is not xecommended to try to work out the average tost per day, week, month or year. [. . . ]
