[. . . ] The N2 protocol interface is RS-485 utilizing a differential pair of signaling wires plus a common or reference wire. The transmission format is 8 data bits, 1 stop bit and no parity. The baud rate is fixed at 9600 bits per second. The card provides a terminal block for the N2 interface. [. . . ] Input points provide information from the drive to the N2 network. The N2 network commands values to the drive through output points. The following tables describe all of the inputs and outputs defined by the drive's Metasys N2 card. The heading NPT stands for Network Point Type. The heading NPA stands for Network Point Address.

Analog Outputs
Analog Output (AO) objects are used to configure the drive. Values of AO objects are changed by issuing override commands. AO objects will not report an override active status and issuing an override release command will not restore an AO object to its previous value. AO objects do not support Change of State (COS).

Binary Outputs
Binary Output (BO) objects are used to control the drive. Values of BO objects are changed by issuing override commands. BO objects will not report an override active status and issuing an override release command will not restore a BO object to its previous value. BO objects do not support the Minimum On-time, Minimum Off-time or Maximum cycles per hour functions.
