[. . . ] You can replace the hard disk drive with a new one which can be purchased from your Lenovo reseller or a marketing representative. To replace the hard disk drive, read the following prerequisites. Prerequisites for the procedure Attention: The hard disk drive is very sensitive. Incorrect handling can cause damage and permanent loss of data. Observe the following guidelines: · Replace the hard disk drive only if you upgrade it or have it repaired. The connectors and slot of the hard disk drive are not designed for frequent changes, or drive swapping. · Do not drop the drive or subject it to physical shocks. Put the drive on a material, such as soft cloth, that absorbs the physical shock. · Do not apply pressure to the cover of the drive. · Before removing the hard disk drive, make a backup copy of all the information on it, and then turn the computer off. · Never remove the drive while the computer is operating, in sleep mode, or in hibernation mode. Remove the hard disk drive by lifting the tab. Chapter 7. Remove the screws and detach the brackets from the hard disk drive. Attach the bracket to a new hard disk drive and reinstall the screws to secure the bracket. Place the new hard disk drive into the hard disk drive bay with the tab facing upwards and the connectors facing each other. Slide the hard disk drive firmly into place, and then reinstall the screw to secure the drive 11. Reinstall the computer cover, and then reinstall the screws to secure the cover. See "Replacing the battery" on page 31. Connect the ac power adapter and all cables. Replacing the keyboard Before you start, print these instructions. To replace the keyboard, read the following prerequisites. Prerequisites for the procedure DANGER During electrical storms, do not connect the cable to or disconnect it from the telephone outlet on the wall. DANGER Electric current from power, telephone, and communication cables is hazardous. To avoid shock hazard, disconnect the cables before opening the cover of this slot.
