To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. [. . . ] Regardless of the natural bass level within the room you will always have the ability to adjust the level of the subwoofer with the built in volume control. If you move the subwoofer you may need to adjust the control settings to get the best performance. Important: Do not place the subwoofer where there is a chance of contact between the amplifier panel and adjacent drapery or furniture. Important:BeforeconnectingtheSoundWareSub, besurethepowerswitchontheamplifierpanelissetto"Off"andallthe other components in the system are turned off. Also be sure to turn off the Sub and all other system components any time you change the system connections. Connect the supplied power cord to the power input on the SoundWare Sub amplifier panel. Plug the cord directly into a wall outlet or some other dedicated power outlet. Do not use an extension cord unless it is a very heavy duty cord intended for high power applications. Do not use a multi-outlet power strip or surge protector unless it is capable of handling high power levels. If a heavy duty power strip or surge protector is used, do not connect any other components to it. Plug it into an appropriate power outlet Plug it into an appropriate power outlet Set the Power switch to ooff and turn Set the Power switch to and turn other other system components off all o all system components before making connections before making anyany connections Never connect the SoundWare Sub power cord to an auxiliary power outlet on another component. These power outlets do not provide adequate amounts of power, or the proper isolation required. Warning: Connecting the SoundWare Sub to an inappropriate power source increases the risk of fire and damage to the system components. The audio signal from the system goes in to the Line In connector on the SoundWare Sub amplifier panel. In some systems that signal will come from a surround sound processor or an A/V receiver that has a dedicated subwoofer or LFE output. In other systems the signal will come from the preamp output of a conventional stereo component. Use a single RCA cable (not supplied), as shown, to connect your digital receiver's LFE subwoofer output to the SoundWare Sub Line In connector. The signal from a subwoofer or LFE output has been filtered so it contains only very low frequency sound. the crossover in the SoundWare Sub is not needed. Turn the Crossover control all the way up to the 180 Hz position. In this type of system the audio adjustments are controlled by the receiver or sound processor. Usually these adjustments are made with on-screen menus. [. . . ] Listen to the selections and adjust the SoundWare Sub volume control until the bass sound is in balance with the rest of the sound range. Do not set the bass volume too high to achieve "impressive"sound. thatwillmakeinstrumentsandvoicessound"muddy"or"thick"andovertimewillbecometiresome. Once you have good main speaker-to-subwoofer balance, listen to the transition range to fine tune the crossover frequency. [. . . ]
