Next, hold your speedring and adaptor with the `i-concept' hole facing towards you and place the first rod into the hole to the left of the `iconcept' hole. When the main part of the softbox is assembled you can then attach the inner-diffuser using the fastening strips on the corners of the diffuser, attaching them to the outer retaining loops of the softbox. STEP 10. Once your softbox is assembled connect it to your flash-head ensuring that it is securely attached. STEP 8. Once again repeat until all four fastening strips on the inner-diffuser are attached to the retaining loops until your softbox looks like the one shown opposite. Ensure that after fitting the inner diffuser is taught across the face. STEP 11. Finally attach the rear cowl to your softbox to prevent any light spill and to complete your softbox. STEP 9. Next, attach the outer diffuser to the assembled softbox using the hook and loop fastening strips. STEP 12. Once complete your softbox should appear as shown opposite. 6 www. bowens. co. uk www. bowens. co. uk 7 Disassembly Softbox Range The Bowens range of softboxes includes the following sizes: · Disassembly is the reverse procedure to assembly. When removing the rods from the casting, the rod in the marked tension release hole (i-concept) should be removed first; this is because the stepped recess on the inside of this hole makes it easier to remove the rod. To ease the rod out of the hole apply pressure to the rod in the directions indicated (see figure below), and pull it away from the casting.
