Unintentional start-up can result in entanglement, traumatic amputation, or laceration. Fire hazard Before performing adjustments or repairs: · Disconnect the spark plug wire and keep it away from the spark plug. · Do not tamper with governor spring, links or other parts to increase engine speed. · Replacement parts must be the same and installed in the same position as the original parts. · Do not strike the flywheel with a hammer or hard object because the flywheel may later shatter during operation. When testing for spark: · Use approved spark plug tester. Align the slots in the choke control knob with the tabs on the choke shaft (I) and then push down to install. If the knob is not installed correctly, the choke will not operate. Do not install the safety key until you are ready to start the engine. Figure 12 C D B G E F I H Figure 13 en 13 Maintenance How To Access The Spark Plug (1-Piece Snow Hood) To access the spark plug, the snow hood must be removed as follows: 1. Keep the safety key out of reach of children. Grasp the choke control knob (B) and pull up to remove. Do not disconnect the primer hose (E) or the stop switch wire (F) (Figure 15). Before installation of the snow hood, make sure that the primer hose and the stop switch wire are connected. Mount the snow hood to the engine and secure with the mounting screws (Figure 14).
