S. A. ) Maintenance, replacement or repair of the emission control devices and systems may be performed by any nonroad engine repair establishment or individual. However, to obtain no charge repairs under the terms and provisions of the Briggs & Stratton warranty statement, any service or emission control part repair or replacement must be performed by a factory authorized dealer. [. . . ] Other parts may not perform as well, may damage the engine, and may result in injury. In addition, use of other parts may void your warranty. 1. Remove cartridge Ë from air cleaner body, and inspect. Replace if very dirty or any damage occurs to cartridge. Transfer safety cartridge Ì to new air cleaner cartridge. Install cover and lock clamps with rubber valve down. CAUTION: Used oil is a hazardous waste product. Check with your local authorities, service center, or dealer for safe dis posal/recycling facilities. 3 CHANGING COOLANT WARNING Never remove radiator cap or radiator reservoir cap while the engine is hot or running. Severe thermal burns or inju ry can occur by escaping steam or hot engine coolant. 2. Fit torque wrench in the square torque hole Í located on the bracket. Apply 115 in lbs (13 Nm) of torque in the direction of the arrow to tension the belt. Tighten bolt Ë and bolt Ì 135 in lbs (15 Nm). 2. (30 ml) of engine oil into each cylinder. Replace spark plugs and crank slowly to distribute oil. Clean engine of surface debris, chaff or grass. CLEANING DEBRIS Fig. 10 Daily or before every use, clean accumulated debris from engine Ê.
