This is a security measure to prevent others from unauthorised access to your messages. You MUST change the base station PIN from 0000. To switch on your answering machine from another external telephone Operating the answering machine from an outside phone (TouchtoneTM phone). The telephone lines must provide Loop Disconnect (Pulse) or Multi-frequency (Touch Tone) dialling capabilities.
