Map Installation Application Foundation Configuration Guide 91 Map on universe Any universe previously pushed in Dashboard Manager/System Setup can be used to retrieve data. When drilling-down from a level to a deeper level, Dashboard Manager needs to build a query on the fly in order to get the right data. Universe Setup Any universe previously pushed in system setup can be used for maps too. Design Constraint Classes appear as Subject Area in Dashboard Manager. In order to be able to limit the query on a specific period, you need to use @Prompt parameters in the universe. It can be a filter that the user selects when building the query or it can be a join at a table level if you want to be sure that the condition is always used. @Prompt needs to use BEGIN_DATE and END_DATE in order to be recognized by Dashboard Manager. @Prompt Example Table. date_column between @Prompt('BEGIN_DATE', 'D', , mono, free) AND @Prompt('END_DATE', 'D', , mono, free) Automatic Drill-Down You can drill-down on a map to get a more detailed map. As an example, start with a "World" map showing the revenue per country. A click on the US displays another map showing the revenue per state in the US. When you click on US, Dashboard Manager sends a second query to get data per state for the US and displays this new data set in a map. When you drill down from a "World" map to a USA map, Dashboard Manager generates a query behind the scene by using two concepts defined in the universe: · Hierarchy · Filte Hierarchy In order to get automatic drill-down between maps, you need to define hierarchies in the Universe. The hierarchy selected in the Map/Edit is used to find the appropriate dimension when drilling-down: the next dimension in the hierarchy is used. Map on universe 92 Application Foundation Configuration Guide Filter Designer has to define one filter for each Level. The filter's name has to be the same name as the dimension. The definition needs to contain @Prompt. The prompt's text has to be the dimension's name. · · · · · · Summary Objects' Class = Subject Area @Prompt with BEGIN_DATE and END_DATE to get date restriction. One dimension for each level (drill-down) Filter's Class = Dimension's Class Filter's Name = Dimension's Name Prompt's Text = Dimension's Name Map Installation Application Foundation Configuration Guide 93 Navigation to another analytics Like in other analytics you can associate a URL to the title.
