JacORB means that the communication protocol is based on the Jacorb implementation of the CORBA specification. JDKORB means that the communication protocol is based on the internal JDK implementation of the CORBA specification. EBUS is the enterprise bus from BusinessObjects Enterprise. This is the recommended value for optimal performance when connecting from BusinessObjects Enterprise to Data Federator. commWindow 346 2010-12-27 Connecting to Data Federator Query Server using JDBC/ODBC drivers Parameter Description commWindow=[integer] Allows the user to specify the maximum number of chunks of rowsAtATime size that can be fetched in advance, when the parameter dataFetcher=PREFETCH. dataFetcher dataFetcher=[PREFETCH|ONDEMAND] Allows the user to choose the data fetching type used by the Data Federator JDBC driver to transfer query result set data from Data Federator Query Server. This parameter can take one of the following values: PREFETCH or ONDEMAND. ONDEMAND means that data is fetched in chunks of rowsAtATime size. PREFETCH means that multiple chunks of rowsAtATime size can be fetched in advance. The user will be able to retrieve data after the first chunk of rowsAtATime size is fetched. enforceMetadataColumnSize enforceMetadataColumnSize=[true|false] When you set this parameter to true, you can limit the string size of VARCHAR values from VARCHAR columns from metadata result sets to the value of the maxMetadaColumnSize parameter. When enforceMetadataColumnSize parameter is set to true, maxMetadataColumnSize is also used for the following metadata information: maximum catalog name length, maximum schema name length, maximum table name length, maximum column name length, maximum user name length, maximum character literal length and maximum binary literal length. The maximum query statement length is defined as (1000 * maxMetadataColumnSize). maxMetadataColumnSize 347 2010-12-27 Connecting to Data Federator Query Server using JDBC/ODBC drivers Parameter Description maxMetadataColumnSize=[integer] Allows the user to specify the maximum size for columns of type VARCHAR in metadata result sets. This parameter can take an integer value that should be at least equal to maximum( maxDecimalPrecision + 2, 29) and not greater than maxStringSize. The value 29 represents the display size of a TIMESTAMP value. When retrieving VARCHAR values, only the parameter maxString Size is used to truncate and eventually generate a truncation warning, even when dealing with metadata result sets. When enforceMetadataColumnSize parameter is set to true, maxMetadataColumnSize is also used for the following metadata information: maximum catalog name length, maximum schema name length, maximum table name length, maximum column name length, maximum user name length, maximum character literal length and maximum binary literal length. The maximum query statement length is defined as (1000 * maxMetadataColumnSize). enforceStringSize enforceStringSize=[true|false] When you set this parameter to true, the string size of VARCHAR data is checked and limited to the maximum string size defined in the maxStringSize parameter, and the strings are truncated to fit this.
