Otherwise, leave the default setting of 6400. This setting defines the amount of time allowed to complete requests to the CMS, such as universe updates. If the request is not completed within the designated time, the request will time out and an error will be noted in the application server log. The default timeout value is 120 seconds. Keep in mind that defining a smaller timeout value than the default may result in requests not being completed. Enabling and configuring access options If you plan to use the web access options, then you must enable and configure the web access options on a per system basis. This section explains how to add access options to systems and discusses the available configuration settings for each access option. If you are not using the web access options, then the only applicable configuration settings relate to the Professional Edition. See "Professional Edition" on page 57 for a discussion of the available configuration settings. Adding access options to systems Before you can access a system using a web access option, the desired access option must be added to the system in the Configuration Manager. To add access options to a system: Expand the Systems node to view the available systems. Right-click the desired system and select the desired access option. The selected access option is added as a node underneath the system name. Repeat this process for each access option that you want to add to the system. Keep in mind the following: · The list of access options is not filtered to reflect the actual software installed or your license rights. If you add an access option that was not installed or that your organization has not licensed, an error will result if an end user attempts to launch that access option. 52 Business Objects Planning Installation Guide Configuring Business Objects Planning Enabling and configuring access options 5 · Enterprise Desktop is not listed as an access option. The ability to use Enterprise Desktop is always enabled if the web software was installed. Each access option that is added to a system must be configured on a persystem basis. The following sections detail the available configuration settings for each access option. To access the configuration settings for each access option, expand the individual system node and then select the name of the access option. Web Checkout The primary configuration setting to be defined for Web Checkout is the default installation path. The first time a user downloads workbooks using Web Checkout, the user is prompted to select an installation directory. The path defined in the Configuration Manager is presented as the default directory. Once a user's installation path has been established for a particular Business Objects Planning system, all workbooks downloaded from that system will continue to be saved to that location.
