Paper Handling 3-19 Paper Handling Chapter 3 Use the Printer Driver to feed the sheet. r Open the Printer Driver Properties window. r On the Maintenance tab, click the roller cleaning icon. CLICK HERE r When prompted to confirm the cleaning, click Yes. r The printer feeds the sheet and then ejects it. r Use a cleaning sheet once only. Chapter 3 Paper Handling 3-20 Fabric Sheets Fabric Sheets for Canon printers come with a booklet that describes special handling procedures. Be sure to look through this booklet for special information regarding the Fabric Sheets. This section describes specific steps for using Fabric Sheets with this printer. r To avoid paper jams, smearing, and other problems, do not open the printer's cover during printing. r Use the fixing agent that comes with the Fabric Sheet. r Do not touch newly printed fabric sheets until the ink is completely dry. This takes about one hour. Printing on a Fabric Sheet Prepare the printer. r Make sure the blue paper thickness lever is to the right position. r Make sure the paper output tray and extension are extended. PAPER THICKNESS LEVER PAPER SUPPORT PAPER OUTPUT TRAY AND EXTENSION 3-21 Paper Handling Chapter 3 Paper Handling Insert the fabric sheet. r Insert the sheet with the cloth side out (toward you) and the open end up (away from the printer's sheet feeder). r The maximum length you can use is six sheets (66 inches or 1676 mm). r Always leave an extra sheet at the end of the banner--just in case the type runs over. Load the first sheet. r Align the first sheet of the paper with the right edge of the sheet feeder and slide it into the printer until it stops. r Pinch the paper guide so it will move smoothly and slide the paper guide to the left side of the sheet. Then select your print options using the BJC-240 Series Printer Driver for Windows. · For Media Type, select Plain Paper. · For the Paper size, select Letter or A4. · On the Paper tab, select Banner Printing. · See your application software instructions for other options. Start printing. r Click OK or Print to start the print job. r Clear enough space in front of the printer for at least two sheets of paper to rest after printing. r As the sheets print, allow the printed sheets to hang over the edge of the desk or work table. 3-28 Paper Handling Chapter 3 Loading Glossy Photo Paper and Glossy Photo Cards When you load Glossy Photo Paper or Glossy Photo Cards in the printer, always use the Loading Support Sheet provided with the package. Prepare the sheets. r Hold the sheets of Glossy Photo Paper with the whiter sides (print sides) up and place them on top of the Loading Support Sheet.
