How to Use this Guide This is the user's guide for FilmGet FS for Windows and FilmGet FS for Macintosh, the driver software for CanoScan FS4000US film scanners. Start the Windows version as a TWAIN driver from within TWAIN-compliant applications and the Macintosh version as the plug-in compliant driver software from within plug-in compatible applications. The relative heights of the peaks in the histogram indicate the concentration of data with the corresponding brightness values. Use this mode to adjust the brightness of the image by changing the relative input and output values on the tone curve, which is a graphical representation of the highlights and shadows. This mode is especially useful for making fine adjustments to the brightness of specific areas of an image. Unadjusted Tone Curve Convex Curve The input halftone data values are shifted to the highlight side in the output, making the image appear brighter in the display. 3 4 The input halftone data values are shifted to the shadow side in the output, making the image appear darker in the display. 5 · Make the curve as smooth as possible to provide a natural appearance.
