AE lock works differently depending on the selected AF point and metering mode. Flash exposure compensation This function corrects the flash level in much the same way as the Exposure compensation function. The level of compensation can be up to +/­2 stops in 1/2-stop increments. Using the Built-in Flash in the Basic Zone In the Basic Zone modes (except < > < > < >), the built-in flash pops up and fires automatically in low-light and backlit conditions. The following procedure applies to the < > (Full Auto) mode with E-TTL autoflash. 1 2· Flash-ready icon Turn the Mode Dial to < Focus the subject. s >. Press the shutter button halfway to focus.
