The One Billion Print Guarantee as well as the guarantees offered on the Océ VarioPrint 6250 Ultra, Océ VarioPrint 6200 Ultra and Océ VarioPrint 6160 Ultra are extended to the original purchaser of the Océ product and are expressly conditioned upon the existence of a valid, current service agreement by and between the customer and Océ customer. The guarantee shall not be valid if, at any time, the service agreement is cancelled, terminated for any reason or expires, or if the failure is caused by accident, misuse or supplies deemed not fit for use with the Océ equipment. Do not store paper near heating appliances, water pipes, open windows or moist walls, on the floor or in direct sunlight. Ideally, the storage room should be used exclusively for paper storage. Climate conditions in the storage room should not vary too much. Paper should always be stored flat, without corners or edges hanging from tables, and without applying pressure on top of each ream from heavy objects. Note: Océ accepts no responsibility for paper that is stored outside of these guidelines. Failing to adhere to these recommendations can result in increased service costs caused by: • Runability issues due to static electricity • A pronounced tendency towards paper curl • Dimension changes • A tendency for the paper to collect dust 10 Runability The Océ VarioPrint 6000 Ultra Line is designed for high workloads with a wide range of media. Supplies Knowledge Centre Within Océ Imaging Supplies there is an ISO 9001-certified paper laboratory called the “Supplies Knowledge Center” (SKC), which is part of the CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) and its comparative testing service. In the SKC, specialists develop and test new applications combining hardware and media. We know that every type of media has distinct characteristics and reacts differently depending on the equipment and conditions where it is used. Besides the testing of new applications, the SKC also offers testing and evaluation of new products. European Standard EN12281 The product supports the standard reprographic media defined in the European Standard EN12281 (German Standard DIN19309) that has a weight between 50 and 300 g/m2. The European Standard EN12281 describes the “printing and business paper for dry toner imaging processes”. The Océ VarioPrint 6000 Ultra Line shows good performance when you use the defined media of EN12281 in large volumes. Warning: If you use non-recommended paper there is a serious risk that you may cause damage to important parts of the printing system - resulting in deterioration of the print quality, downtime and additional (service) costs. Media testing service Customers can request two kinds of media tests: Media test Basic test A basic print run with a limited number of sheets. This test provides a first indication of a medium’s suitability for the machine being tested. A large print run is carried out on the printing system specified according to NEN-EN 12281 criteria. This test provides data about runability, print quality, toner adhesion, curl, registration, physical measurements and chemical analysis. [. . . ] The drying process of dispersion coatings takes place through absorption into the printing substrate or through evaporation. The surface of the coating should be rub-proof approximately 10 seconds after the sheets are removed. The complete build-up reaches it’s final properties regarding adhesion and scratch resistance after the underlying printing ink is completely dry. The total drying time is dependent on the substrate, but for optimal performance should be at least the number of hours mentioned for the drying of the individual inks on page 15 of this document, taking into account a minimum drying time of 120 hours.
