This keeps you from having to configure the camera each time you turn it off and on. Selecting "Off" for a setting will cause that setting to return to its optimal default whenever the camera is turned off and then back on again. Selecting "On" will cause its setting when power is turned off to be restored when the camera is turned back on again. The following lists all of the settings that can be configured with mode memory.
