Special Safety Measures for this Machine Only fill the water tank with cold water!Do not open the water tank lid during use. Please rinse the appliance 2 or 3 times with cold water before using it for the first time. Make sure that the appliance is switched off (switch located on the rear of the appliance in position , , OFF/0"). Before inserting the mains lead into the socket, check whether the voltage you intend to use complies with that of the machine. Only connect the machine to a properly installed safety socket, 230 V/50 Hz. Take out the permanent filter and fill it with coffee powder. Replace the permanent filter, put the cup on to the stand and close the lid of the water tank. After percolation turn the switch to position "OFF/0". Descaling is necessary when the time needed to prepare coffee becomes considerably longer. Only commercially available descaling products based on citric acid should be used. Before cleaning the machine you should always remove the mains lead and wait until the machine has cooled down. The machine should only be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use any strong detergents or solvents for cleaning. The cup and permanent filter should be cleaned in the usual manner in soapy water. [. . . ] You are not entitled to the replacement of the appliance owing to broken glass parts and faulty accessories. However, said parts will be replaced free of charge.
