Printed in the United States of America. [. . . ] NOTE: When installing weight plates, position plates so wide edges of bushings face upward and narrow edges of bushings face downward. See Figures 3A and 3B. T REC COR G ON WR NARROW bushing edge WIDE bushing edge faces upward NOTE: The narrow bushing edge must face downward. On each guide rod, place lower snap rings at least two inches below top end of guide rod. On one of the guide rods, install the upper snap ring. Lower guide rod and secure lower snap ring. Install pulley bracket (removed in steps 1A and 1B). Carefully install weight detent pin onto spiral cord. Place ring end of spiral cord over stem of top weight. Place rubber cap over stem of top weight so that rubber cap is loose and easy to remove. The rubber cap will be removed later and placed on the weight stack cable. Assembly Page 6-8 Cybex MG 500 Multi-Gym Owner's Manual 2. Install optional station weight stack (see steps 2A - 2Q and Figure 4). WARNING: Use extreme caution when installing the weight stacks, especially when working on the inside of the main frame assembly. Failure to do so could result in injury. NOTE: Two people will be required to perform this procedure. Using an external snap ring pliers, slide the lower snap ring down about two inches from the top part of the guide rod (this will provide access to the upper ring). NOTE: A step ladder may be helpful when removing snap rings. Frame Upper snap ring Lower snap ring Guide rod Figure 4 B. Raise one of the guide rods high enough to expose the upper snap ring. Using an external snap ring pliers, remove upper snap ring and then carefully lower guide rod. Remove lower snap ring on each guide rod. Using a utility knife, cut the shipping tie strap securing the top weight and carefully remove top weight. Wipe both guide rods clean over entire length. Lubricate with light coating of medium weight automotive engine oil. [. . . ] If top weight plate does not rest securely against the second plate and selector pin cannot be fully inserted, there is too much tension on the cable, fitting pin hole with another connector opening as required to adjust tension. If cable tension cannot be corrected, contact a Cybex Customer Relations Technician. Once proper tension is achieved, fully inset selector pin and replace protective cover over cable fitting.
