You need third party monitoring software to monitor traffic. Monitoring software is not included in the switch. Figure 31: Port Monitoring Port Monitoring Must be enabled in order to set up a monitoring port. Monitoring Port Is the port that does the actual monitoring. Port to be Monitored Slot and port number of the port to be monitored. Monitored Data Data that is collected by the monitoring port. Transmitted refers to packets that are transmitted from the port. Received refers to packets that are received by the port. Transmitted and received refer to packets that are transmitted from and received by the port. Enter the slot and port number of the port you that is being used as the monitoring port. Enter the slot and port number of the port to be montored. Toggle the space bar to select Transmitted, Received or Transmitted & Received. Select Save and press Enter. A Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) is a logical subgroup within a LAN that is created with software rather than physical connections.
