Using the dehumidifier
1) Plug the appliance into the power socket. The pilot lamp lights to show that the appliance is switched on. 2) Check that the "Canister Full/No Canister" pilot lamp is off. 3) Turn the humidistat knob to "CONTINUOUS" for continuous operation. 4) Select the maximum or minimum fan speed. 5) In order to switch off the appliance, turn the knob anticlockwise to the off position; Note: When using the dehumidifier for the first time, turn the humidistat knob clockwise to the CONTINUOUS position. When you obtain a pleasant feeling of wellbeing and the nasty damp smells have disappeared, set the humidistat to one of the positions, between 5 and OFF, that best matches your requirements. At the beginning the dehumidifier will absorb large quantities of humidity and will continue to do so until the humidity has been reduced. From this point onwards, the appliance will absorb less humidity: this does not mean that the dehumidifier is not working properly but rather that the atmospheric humidity has diminished and that the appliance will continue to maintain the desired level of humidity efficiently. When in its dehumidifying function the appliance not only dehumidifies but also heats the room slightly.
The following use examples are given on the equipment's control panel:
In the cellar it will be necessary on one hand to keep a fairly high level of relative humidity (e. g. , in order to preserve food items), and on the other hand to have the fastest possible ventilation so as to restore quickly to the room those humidity (or moisture) conditions desired. In lived-in rooms, it will be necessary to guarantee those levels of relative humidity and silence ideal for the people frequenting that part of the home. In laundry rooms and in all the other rooms where you wish to attain lower levels of humiditry, you will have to avail yourself of the greatest possible dehumidification capacity and speed.
