The heat could ruin the surface of the table!€œSafe transport”: certain models are fitted with a locking system which locks the iron in position during transport. When the iron is locked in position, it must not be used as a carrying handle to transport the appliance!To position the iron correctly, insert the tip of the plate into the housing B, rest the iron in position and move the lock J to the locking position. To release the iron, move the lock J into the release position and remove the iron from its housing. While ironing, if the iron rest has not been removed from the appliance, you can rest the tip of the iron on the heat resistant base C above the housing B. €¢ The appliance must be used and rested on a stable heat resistant surface. €¢ When placing the iron on the iron rest, make sure the appliance is resting on a stable surface. This will eliminate condensation from the steam circuit. Rinsing the steam generator After every 10 ironing sessions, proceed as described on page 6. [. . . ] Chemical water softeners or additives have been poured into the water tank or steam generator. Some parts have been treated with sealer/lubricant which evaporates the first time the iron heats up. Water is being pumped into the steam generator. REMEDY Make sure the appliance is correctly connected and press the iron and steam generator buttons. [. . . ]
