If the DN-C620 is placed near an amplifier, tuner or other components, noise (induced hum) or beat interference may result (especially during AM or FM reception). If this occurs, separate the DN-C620 from other components or reorient its position.

2. PREPARATIONS

CONNECTIONS
Leave your entire system (including the DN-C620) turned off until all connections between the DN-C620 and other components have been completed. Connection precautions Before proceeding with connections or disconnections of cables and power cords, be sure to turn all system components off. Ensure that all cables are connected properly to the L (left) and R (right) jacks. Connect the CD output jacks to the amplifier CD or AUX input jacks. Connect one end of a straight-through RS232C serial cable into Communication Port on the back of the DN-C620 and connect the other end into the "RS232C" port on the back of the computer.
Basic connection
Analog audio output (balanced) to connect to analog audio equipment. If necessary, adjust output level with trim volume. Analog audio output (unbalanced) to connect to analog audio equipment. If necessary to adjust output level, you should connect to "VARIABLE" and adjust by remote control.
D-Sub Female 25-Pin Parallel Interface to connect to external input trigger device.
Connect the included power cord into an outlet providing the right voltage.

CAUTIONS:
Before connecting, the POWER ON/OFF switch should be set the OFF position. Do not touch the power cord with wet hands. When disconnecting the power cord, always make sure that you take hold of the plug. Yanking out or bending the cord can damage it and/or cause electric shocks or a fire.

SUPPORTED AUDIO CD
In addition to standard CD-DA discs, the DN-C620 can read several other CD-DA formats. Please refer to page 22 for detail of reading and operation of data discs.
INSERTING AND EJECTING A DISC
Inserting and Ejecting a disc is only available when the unit is powered on. If the unit is OFF, press the POWER ON/OFF switch to turn on the power. Hold the disc by the edges and insert it in the DISC slot. (Do not touch the signal surface, i. e. , glossy side. )

Some copy-controlled CDs may not conform to official CD standards. They are special discs and may not play on the DN-C620.
PL AY MOD E
Messages Messages may appear on the display while using the DN-C620. The meanings of the messages are explained below. Message No Disc Eject Locked Meaning No disc is inserted. [. . . ] Operation with parallel connections can be used with a maximum of 5 units. Connection of 6 or more units will lead to indicator operation.
