This manual will explain the principal details of how to maintain this scooter so you can get a longer duration with a minimum cost and the best performance. DERBI's quality will take care of everything else, we are sure that you will get complete satisfaction with the use of this vehicle, with the original spare parts and a National web of more than four thousand agents and shops. If you encounter any problem, refer to the nearest distributor. [. . . ] It is recommended to clean the filter foam every 5, 000 kilometres, following the steps below: - Unscrew the screws securing the filter box cover. Submerge the foam a number of times until it is perfectly clean. - Squeeze out the cleaning fluid pressing a number of times between the palms of the hands. Do not fold or wring out the filter, since to do so would cause it to tear. - Submerge the filter foam in a container filled with AGIP FILTER OIL and then press a number of times between the palms of the hands to squeeze out the excess oil. - Once the filter foam is clean, fit it again, following the reverse order to disassembly. - It is also extremely important to clean the entire secondary airway system, which is located on the right-hand side of the engine (2). This operation should be performed at an Official Derbi Service Agent. - Both before and during the cleaning process, examine the air filter foam thoroughly, and if any defects are found, do not fail to replace it with a new one. - If you drive on dusty roads, the air filter foam should be cleaned more frequently. always make sure that the air filter foam is in excellent condition. The life of the engine depends particularly on this component. The fuse If the fuse in the electrical system has to be changed because it has blown, be sure to replace it with one of equal amperage, that is, 4 amps. The fuse is located inside the battery compartment; to change it, take it out of its support and put the new one in its place. Never use a fuse higher than 4 amps, because to do so can cause damage to the electrical system. If the fuse blows again within a short period of time, consult your Official DERBI Service Agent. Battery installation instructions - Extract the three screws from the lower saddle fairing. Maintenance of the battery Good maintenance of the battery should include: - Always keep the water level between the upper and lower marks on the front of the battery case. If necessary top up with distilled water. - Keep the upper surface of the battery completely clean and dry and free of corrosive materials; the terminals should be kept clean and greased so as to avoid corrosion. 265 or above is good, but if it is lower, recharge the battery. - When not in use, the battery will dis- This average increases with the temperature.
