[. . . ] WHAT THE FX25B DOES The FX25B is an update of the classic autowah/envelope filter. The FX25B has an added blend knob so that it can be used with either guitar or bass. The FX25B works well for heavily enveloped funky chords or for leads with just a slight vowel quality to them. [. . . ] FOOTSWITCH: Switches the effect in or out of the signal path. LED INDICATOR: Lights when the effect is enabled, and is not lit when the effect is bypassed. JACKS: Input, Output, AC Adapter (use the DOD PS200R power supply only to eliminate the need for a 9 volt battery). OPERATION OF THE FX25B The FX25B should be operated in front of an amplifier but, it can be used in an effects loop as well. Since the order of the effects are very important, they should be ordered as follows: 1 compression effects (DOD FX84), 2 Wah/volume and envolope filters (DOD FX17, FX25), 3 Distortion effects (DOD FX102, FX69B), 4 EQ's (DOD FX 40B), 5 chorus, flanging, phasing, vibrato (DOD FX 64, FX75C, FX25B, FX22), 6 Delay and reverb effects (DOD DFX98, FX96). To set up your own sound with the FX25B start by turning the BLEND control to 12 O'clock, Set the sensitivity anywhere between 11 O'clock and 1 O'clock. Set the range to 1 O'clock, and play. When using the FX25B don't be suprised if you suddenly have the urge to go out and buy some platform shoes and tight poly-blend slacks. All your years of growing out your hair and working at the car wash have finally paid off. On the following pages, examples of different types of sounds are shown, along with graphic representations of how to set the knobs. Since good (or bad) guitar sounds are a subjective matter, use these examples as starting points to create your own sounds that meet your specific tastes, or lack thereof.
