[. . . ] Remove the water reservoir from its housing by pulling it towards you. Remove the anti-scale cartridge from the bag. It must rest on the bottom of the reservoir. Fill the reservoir to the maximum level. [. . . ] € To use steam please ensure that the thermostat dial is set within the 2 and 3 dot settings. € We recommend that you iron articles in the order indicated on the iron's thermostat dial so that the temperature gradually increases. - 21 - TO OPERATE - HEATING PROCESS • Plug the power cable into an earthed socket. € The Power On indicator lights comes on to show that the appliance is switched on. The generator heating pilot light comes on. € Wait 30 seconds before the trying to use the iron. At that point you will hear an audible signal. € Press steam trigger until steam comes out. When you switch on the iron, it may take up to 30 seconds before you can call for steam. The steam output will remain at a reduced level until the generator light goes out, by which time it will have reached the normal level. Please note : – Whilst you are ironing, the generator and iron heating pilot lights repeatedly go on and off. This is normal, and you can continue to iron and to use the steam. STEAM FLOW RATE CONTROL KNOB • Economy mode = E: For light or very quick ironing sessions, we suggest you that you set the control dial to Eco Mode (reduced steam output). € Mini mode = MIN : for fabrics that only need a little amount of steam. € Variable mode = : Adjust the flow control knob to suit the type of material being ironed. The volume of steam increases gradually as you turn the control knob towards the maximum (+). € Maxi mode = : At maximum setting, there is an initial burst of steam lasting for several seconds. The steam output will then return to the normal rate. To repeat this process, wait for a few seconds to avoid any risk of spotting. gENERATION OF STEAM Press the steam button to obtain steam. Never call for steam when there is no water in the reservoir. Please note • Because of the high steam output rate, there is no need to continually press the Tipps steam button.
