[. . . ] Congratulations on purchasing this Domena Ironing station XM5 ecofibres® ecofibres® are mainly made from natural fibres such as fine shavings from trees like spruce. This allows a reduction in unit weight, and ensures a total recycling of the material. Natural fibres are a renewable resource, which allows the material to keep its original technical properties whilst remaining ecological. Ecofibres are totally recyclable, and reduce the use of petrochemicals in manufacturing. [. . . ] TYPES OF WATER You can use : tap water, distilled water for irons. Do not use : Rain water, water from the fridge, water from any evaporator appliance, water produced by a condenser tumble drier, water supplied by your water softener if it indicates that the regenerating salts need replacing (incompatibility with the EMC system) Choosing your water You can use either tap water or distilled water for irons. Depending upon the limescale level of your tap water and upon your weekly ironing load (average time : 2/3 hours), it can be more economical to use distilled water for irons (not for car batteries). In this case, your cartridge should last up to 1 year (depending on the amount of your ironing and on the quantity of steam you ask for). Dip the test strip supplied into tap water for 1 second. Remove, shake it for a few seconds and wait for the resultant colour change (approximately 1 minute). 1 or 1 1/2 mauve squares : you can use tap water. 2 or more mauve squares : we advise you to use distilled water for irons. € Replace the reservoir by pushing it right into its housing. Listen for a click to ensure that the tank is correctly engaged. Never fill the reservoir with hot water Never add products containing alcohol or essences (perfume, eau de Cologne, lavender essence…) to the water. REFILLING WITH WATER WHILST IRONING • You can refill the reservoir during ironing. You do not need to unplug the appliance, and can immediately re-commence ironing. Thermostat THERMOSTAT ADJUSTMENT • Adjust the thermostat of the iron according to the fabric. € To use steam please ensure that the thermostat dial is set within the 2 and 3 dot settings. TO OPERATE - HEATING PROCESS • Plug the power cable into an earthed socket. € According to model : Turn the variable steam control knob to the High position. € Wait 90 seconds for the appliance to be ready. At that point you will hear an audible signal. If you press the steam trigger before the appliance is ready, an audible signal sounds to indicate that the generator is not ready to supply steam. € Once the appliance is ready, press the steam trigger until steam comes out. When you switch on the iron, it may take up to 90 seconds before you can call for steam. [. . . ] You can then store the whole unit flat without emptying the tank. If you lie the machine on its side, water from the container may spill out. The electronic EMC system measures the effectiveness of the anti-scale cartridge by constantly monitoring the scale content of the filtered water. The EMC system therefore eliminates any risk of scaling. [. . . ]
