Then the backup server can mount to the iSN Snapshot rather than the primary volume as the source for the backup, resulting in the elimination of the backup window. iSN Snapshots Dot Hill's iSN offers two kinds of Snapshots - Read-Only and Writeable - enabling non-disruptive creation and removal of snapshots for more efficient data protection, fast recovery and improved capacity utilization. Read-Only Snapshots iSN Read-Only Snapshots are persistent point-in-time copies of volumes that can be created very quickly (in a matter of seconds) without disrupting mission critical applications.
