Important Never leave the key in the ON position when engine is stopped, or this will damage the electric components. Warning Using padlocks or other locks designed to prevent motorcycle motion, such as brake disc locks, rear sprocket locks and so on, is dangerous and may impair motorcycle operation and affect rider safety.
Parking Stop and park the motorcycle on the side stand (see page 23). To avoid theft, turn the handlebar fully left and block it by pushing in the ignition key and turning it to the LOCK position (fig. If you park in a garage or other facilities, make sure that there is proper ventilation and that the motorcycle is not near a source of heat or sparks. You may leave the parking lights on by turning the key to position P (fig. Important Do not leave the key turned to P for long periods or the battery will run down. Never leave the ignition key in the switch when you are leaving your bike unattended.

MAIN MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS
Side body panels (fig. 25) To remove the body panels proceed as follows: unscrew the two fasteners (1) joining the two body panels together; unscrew the four headlamp fairing fasteners (2); unscrew the four frame fasteners (3).
Removing the fairing Some servicing operations need the motorcycle fairing to be removed. Warning Firmly secure all removed parts when refitting them, otherwise some of them might suddenly come off when riding and you may loose control of your motorcycle. Important At reassembly always fit nylon washers when tightening fastening screws, not to damage painted parts and Plexiglas headlamp fairing. Some fastening screws are of the self-tapping type; do not overtighten, otherwise treading might damage thus avoiding further use.
