Warning If parts that have been removed are not refitted correctly they may become loose suddenly while riding and cause you to lose control of your motorcycle. Removal of the headlight fairing Unscrew and remove the two bolts (1) securing the headlight shell to the headlight support. 2 fig. 37 Notes Be careful not to lose the nuts for the bolts (1) located on the inside of the headlight shell. Remove the headlight shell (2). 46 Lifting the fuel tank (fig. 38) Warning To prevent fuel from spilling out through the filler cap breather hole, the quantity of fuel in the tank should be less than 5 litres. Remove the old filter cartridge (3, fig. 41) and fit a new one. 2 E Important A dirty filter reduces the amount of intake air, which increases fuel consumption, reduces engine power and causes deposits to form on the spark plugs. Do not use the motorcycle without a filter; as impurities in the air could get into the engine and cause damage.
