EPSON provides special media such as ink jet (coated) paper, transparencies, glossy paper, glossy film, index cards, and adhesive sheets that are formulated for the inks used in EPSON ink jet printers. EPSON recommends you to use media distributed by EPSON to ensure high-quality results. The product names of some EPSON media currently on the market may vary depending on when it was distributed. The following table lists media types whose product names have changed. The quality and use of this media is the same regardless of the name on the media packaging. The cleaning function performed by these sheets is not necessary with this printer, and the sheets could jam in the printer. When loading special paper distributed by EPSON, read the instruction sheets packed with your special media first and keep the following in mind. Make sure the printable surface of the paper is face up when loading media into the sheet feeder. See the instruction sheets packed with the media to determine which side is the printable surface. Some media features cut corners to help identify the correct loading direction, as shown below. Make sure the paper stack fits under the edge guide tab and the arrow mark, both of which are located on the inside surface of the left edge guide. You can load paper up to the arrow mark on the left edge guide. If you load legal-size ink jet paper, do not load it more than halfway to the arrow mark. Always place the included support sheet* under the cards when loading them. Before loading glossy paper, always put a support sheet* or a sheet of plain paper under the stack of glossy paper.
