PLEASE. . .
Keep 1) a copy of our catalog, 2) your order, and 3) this manual with your important documents. They should not be discarded as they all contain important information. [. . . ] We include such references in accordance with safety standard ASTM F 1148-00. HARDWARE
Check all nuts and bolts twice monthly during the usage season for tightness and tighten as required. It is particularly important that this procedure be followed at the beginning of each season. Our hardware has the best available grade of plating, but if surface rusting does occur please be assured it will not affect the strength or safety of your play equipment.
FRAMES AND RUNGS
Inspect all equipment and test all load-bearing parts, including the rungs, by gradually applying full adult weight of 180-200 pounds. Be sure to test all structural pieces this way, including swings, trapeze rings, nets, ladders, ropes, dowels, and hardware. Test all parts in the manner of their intended use. Test with care, holding on with both hands and both feet so that the test person is always secure. Test at the beginning of the usage season and monthly during the usage season. With the exception of the ChildLife Family Swing and Parent's Swing, ChildLife® products are designed to be used by and bear the weights of children. These products are not designed for adult climbing, swinging, or any other use. The application of adult weight to the equipment as outlined above is a test of safety and strength of the parts. Reseal Ladder Rungs once a year with a non-toxic wood preservative. You can order ChildLife Clear Wood Sealer (available in quarts) from your point of purchase. Do not use glossy paint or varnish on rungs, as this will make them slippery.
LAWN MAINTENANCE
Do not use line trimmers or "weed eaters" around your play equipment. The line will remove both paint and wood from uprights and base pieces. Any damage resulting from this type of abuse is not covered under our limited warranty.

INVENTORY YOUR BOXES
If you purchased your play system directly from ChildLife Inc. , locate the Packing List sealed in a clear plastic envelope attached to the Red Box. Use the Packing List to ensure that you have received all the boxes required to assemble your play system. Each box is
identified by a large numbered label, and includes a detailed list of contents. [. . . ] However, it should be recognized that all injuries due to falls cannot be prevented no matter what surfacing material is used. It is recommended that a shock absorbing material should extend a minimum of 6' in all directions from the perimeter of stationary equipment such as climbers and slides. However, because children may deliberately jump from a moving swing, the shock absorbing material should extend in the front and rear of a swing a minimum distance of 2 times the height of the pivot point measured from a point directly beneath the pivot point supporting
structure.
This information is intended to assist in comparing the relative shock-absorbing properties of various materials. No particular material is recommended over another. [. . . ]
