!Do not dunk on this unit Do not hang from any part of the unit, including the backboard, rim, or net. Keep organic material away from pole base. [. . . ] Push the bolt all the way through the pole section and attach another nylon washer (#9), the other lower board arm (#4), and secure with a flat washer (#13) and hex nut (#14). Attach pull tube to lower board arms as shown in Figure 7. Use a 6" hex bolt (#17), six flat washers (#8), two spacers (#18), and a hex nut (#7). Tighten the hex nut (#7) just until it touches the washer and there is no loose space between any parts. At this time, go back and tighten hex nut (#14) from step 10 snugly, but do not overtighten. NOTE: Do not overtighten hex nuts in steps 11 and 12. The Lower Board Arms must be able to pivot freely.

13. Next, attach a board bracket (#10) to one of the lower board arms. Make sure to align the hole patterns exactly as shown in Figure 8. Use a hex bolt (#12), two flat washers (#8), a nylon washer (#9), and a hex nut (#7). Tighten the hex nut snugly, but do not overtighten. Repeat step 13 for the other lower board arm.

NOTE: Do not overtighten hex nuts in steps 13 and 14. The Board Brackets must be able to pivot freely.
15. Place the 4" square cap (#6) snugly over the top end of the upper pole section, and tap 1" round caps (#33) into the ends of upper board arms (#5) with the larger holes. Attach the Upper Board Arms (#5) to the upper pole section as shown in Figure 9, utilizing the holes near the top of the pole. NOTE: There are large holes in one end of the Upper Board Arms, and small holes in the other. Use a 7" hex bolt (#12), two flat washers (#13), two nylon washers (#9), and a hex nut (#14). Tighten the hex nut snugly, but do not overtighten. NOTE: Do not overtighten the hex nut (#14) in step 16. The Upper Board Arms must be able to pivot freely.

17. Next, attach a Board Bracket (#10) to the other end of the upper board arms as shown in Figure 10. Use a hex bolt (#11), two flat washers (#8), a nylon washer (#9), and a hex nut (#7). [. . . ] Secure with two bolts (#34), four washers (#36), two lock washers (#35), and two hex nuts (#31). Square up goal and tighten all four nuts tight. See Figure 15.
