Line up bottom of mounting plate on Extension Arm (#3) with mark made in last step and attach Extension Arm (#3) to Pole (#2) using three U-bolts (#4), six washers (#5), six hex nuts (#6). Install a Cap Nut (#7) on both ends of each U-bolt (#4). Insert Pole Cap (#1) into top of Pole (#2). It may be necessary to use a hammer or rubber mallet to tap Cap in. 2. 3. 4. Protruding bolts can cause serious injury. Never use this unit without Cap Nuts (#7) firmly in place and covering U-bolts. If a Cap Nut is damaged or missing, replace before using this unit. Figure 4 5. Attach upper Board Arm (#9) to Extension Arm (#3) using two hex bolts (#10), four washers (#5) and two plastic washers (#8). Rotate Board Arm downward until it hits the "Board Arm Stop" and tighten hex bolts tight. Attach lower Board Arm (#9) to Extension Arm (#3) using two hex bolts (#10), four washers (#5) and two plastic washers (#8). Tighten bolts snug but, do not tighten completely at this time. Board Arms must pivot freely for remainder of assembly. See figure 4. 6. 5 PLACING THE POST ON THE ANCHOR SYSTEM REQUIRES AT LEAST FOUR CAPABLE ADULTS. POLE WILL WANT TO LEAN WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STAND IT UP ON ANCHOR BOLTS. 7. Locate hardware needed to mount pole to anchor bolts. You will need, eight flatwashers (#27), four lock washers (#26), four hex nuts (#25) and four thread protectors (#24). Put a flat washer (#27) on each anchor bolt. Lift post onto anchor system and secure with one flatwasher (#27), one lock washer (#26) and one hex nut (#25) for each anchor bolt. See Figure 5. 8.
