[. . . ] DATASHEET FUJITSU PRIMERGY ServerView Suite ServerView Update Manager Express DATASHEET FUJITSU PRIMERGY ServerView Suite ServerView Update Manager Express INSTALLING FIRMWARE, BIOS AND DRIVERS USING ASPS AND PSPS Introduction Availability of ASPs The Update Manager Express in the PRIMERGY ServerView Suite is used to install firmware and BIOS on the PRIMERGY servers for the various server components. During the installation the Update Manager Express uses self-extracting and self-installing software packages known as Autonomous support Packages (ASPs) for BIOS and Firmware or PRIMERGY Support Packages (PSPs) respectively. [. . . ] If not, the ServerView Suite DVD 1 can be booted and the Update Manager Express then started. It is also possible to boot an older DVD 1 and to replace it with the DVD-ISO repository image (see above) before selecting the Update Manager. The Update Manager Express has 3 operating modes: Quick Mode: the BIOS/firmware installation (update) runs completely automatically on the server components. Normal Mode: specific server components can be selected where the BIOS/firmware is to be updated. Expert Mode: an older BIOS/firmware/driver version can be reset. The Update Manager Express can be started under Linux via a command after the ServerView Suite DVD 1 has been mounted. The graphic user interface with three modes is not different from that under Windows. The ASPs can also be directly executed under Linux via command interface. If necessary, the installation event can be monitored. A Commando Line Interface (CLI) enables to use ServerView Update Manager Express in existing or scripted environments.
