Doing this causes the autopilot to revert to the default Pitch Hold (PIT) Mode and Altitude Hold is armed. When the selected altitude is reached, Altitude Hold Mode will become active and the autopilot will maintain the selected altitude. At the holding pattern, the pilot commences with the hold. To fly the hold using the Autopilot, the pilot sets Selected Heading using the HDG Knob and presses the HDG Key. The HDG Knob is used for the remainder of the hold to guide the aircraft. Turn the Small FMS Knob to select the first MAP page (indicated by a solid rectangular icon). Press the MAP Softkey to display softkeys for the available information which may be displayed on the map. WARNING: The map display should only be used for situational awareness.
