[. . . ] Connect the cable to the GARMIN GPS Unit and place the antenna into view of satellites for operation. The antenna can be mounted several ways, permanently or temporarily. Before placing the antenna in position, consider these factors: o! [. . . ] Insert the screws in the two countersunk holes and then attach to the antenna. (Figure 1) Place the antenna with magnetic mount on a flat surface with a clear view of the sky. NOTE: You may want to store the antenna inside your vehicle when not in use to prevent theft or vandalism. If left in place for prolonged periods of time, remove and clean dust and grit from the vehicle surface and bottom of the antenna to reduce abrasion to the vehicle finish. Magnetic Mount Mounting Screws GA 26C Antenna Figure 1 3. Connect the antenna cable to the BNC connection on the GPS unit. Turn on the unit and determine that proper satellite reception is achieved. You may need to relocate the antenna for best reception. Installing the Antenna (cont. ) 4. If you choose to mount the antenna inside the vehicle windshield, first determine that the windshield provides location for a clear view of the sky. Attach the Suction Cup Mount to the bottom of the bottom of the antenna using the two mounting screws (provided). Position the antenna to maximize satellite visibility and to minimize obstruction of the drivers view. Adjust the angle of the mount to fit the windshield by rotating the large suction cup before placing on the windshield. NOTE: There are two other mounting options: A Flange Mount (P/N 010-10062-00) for direct attachment to flat surfaces and a Trunk Lip Mount (P/N 010-10061-00) GA 26C Antenna Suction Cup Mount Mounting Screws Windshield Figure 2 LIMITED WARRANTY GARMIN Corporation warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and manufacture for one year from the date of purchase.
