 [. . . ] Gateway 56-inch HD-Ready DLP TV Lamp Replacement
You should replace the lamp in your DLP TV approximately every 6000 hours to maintain the best possible display image.  [. . . ] Make sure that your DLP TV is turned off,  power is disconnected,  and the lamp is completely cool (minimum of 45 minutes) before replacing the lamp. 

To replace the lamp:

1 Turn off your DLP TV. 2 Disconnect the power cord and all other external cables.

3 Let the lamp cool completely (approximately 45 minutes). 4 Locate the lamp bay.

5 Loosen the two lamp access panel screws,  then remove the access
panel. These screws cannot be removed.

6 Remove the two lamp module retaining screws.

7 Use the lamp removal handle to lift the lamp module straight out
of the lamp bay.

8 Insert the new lamp module into the lamp bay. 
Caution Make sure that you do not touch the front of the lamp. The oils from your hands can cause the lamp to fail prematurely. 

9 Replace the two lamp module retaining screws. 
Important Make sure that the screws are fastened securely so the lamp will not shake. 

10 Replace the lamp bay access panel,  then tighten the two access
panel screws. 

11 Connect the power cable and all external cables.
