This is very useful when the WAN connection type is Dial-On-Demand (like PPPoE/PPP). Then, the Wireless Router can autodisconnect at normal conditions. Otherwise the periodic e-Mail checking from the LAN user will cause the Wireless Router to keep the WAN connection alive forever. Therefore, in this situation, the LAN user can only use e-Mail servers inside the network. (if a POP3 server exist in LAN). 3. 4.
