[. . . ] For S-VIDEO connection, switch the TV to S-VIDEO mode. ANALOG AUDIO OUT JACK Connect the video output terminal with the TV video input terminal. For video output connection, switch the TV to VIDEO mode. COMPONENT OUT JACK Connect the TV Y, Pr, Pb terminals with the DVD Y, Pr, Pb terminals. DIGITAL AUDIO OUT JACK Connect the coaxial terminal to the coaxial input terminal of Dolby Digital receiver. 15 Basic Playback If the screensaver is active when you connect the DVD player to your TV, open the door of the DVD player and press the "DISPLAY" button until the normal DVD wallpaper appears. Before operating Turn on the TV and select the VIDEO input source connected to the DVD player pressing the TV/VIDEO select button. If the S-VIDEO is connected, select the S-VIDEO mode. Turn on the audio system and select the input source connected to the DVD Player. When the DVD is turned on, the DVD SCREEN will appear. Set the initial settings according to the desired language, audio or the connected TV or audio system. Turn to instructions on initial setting on page 26 for more details. Place a disc properly on the tray with the playback side down. Close the tray by pressing OPEN/CLOSE button. To STOP PLAYBACK, press STOP button. To temporarily STOP PLAYBACK, press the PLAYBACK/PAUSE button. To resume PLAYBACK, press the PLAYBACK/PAUSE button once again. The DVD player automatically memorizes the location where the stop button was pressed during playback and resumes from that point when the playback button is pressed again. Playback will stop automatically after 10 minutes in pause mode. A few minutes afer playback is stopped, the screen will oscillate between dark and light shades to protect the TV hardware. After 10 minutes in stop mode, the power will automatically turn off. 16 Display the playback status For DVD Playback TITLE 01/02 00 : 01 : 05 CHAPTER 001/009 1 Press DISPLAY button on the remote controller. The title, chapter number and the time elapsed is shown. Pressing the button again shows the remaining time. Pressing the button again shows the time elapsed for the chapter. Pressing the button again shows the remaining time for the chapter. Pressing the button again exits from the playback state reference. (Check that the DVD or, audio CD indicator in the DVD display is lit. ) Select the appropriatevideo input mode on the TV so the picture from the DVD player appears on the TV screen. Connect the video cable into the jacks securely. Select the correct input mode of the audio receiver so you can listen to the sound from the DVD player. [. . . ]
