Care should be taken to ensure sparks are not generated near the car battery. Sparks occur when connecting or disconnecting leads. Keep sparks and flames away from batteries. Keep hands and cables clear of fan blades, belts pulleys and other moving parts when working near a running engine. Remove jewelry, watch and loose clothing when near the engine compartment.
