Fluid is present at air cap holes. Spray tip is leaking, Verify that retainer (8) or RAC air cap assembly (30), are tight. Tighten diffuser-seat. Diffuser-seat (10) is insufficiently tightened. 311052D 17 Troubleshooting Problem Fluid needle will not trigger. Cause Loose or missing fluid needle stop (21) or setscrew (19). Plug (5) is in incorrect fluid port. Solution Replace stop or tighten setscrew. Replace o-ring (22) or piston assembly (20). Increase air pressure or clean air line. Move plug to fluid port consistent with manifold plumbing, unless you are using gun in a circulating system. If you are, all fluid ports in gun and on manifold should be open. Tighten piston cap until it bottoms out. Do not immerse piston in solvent Fluid does not shut off. Worn o-ring (25). Swollen piston o-ring (22). 18 311052D Troubleshooting Spray Pattern Troubleshooting Problem Fluttering spray. Solution Adjust fluid regulator or fill fluid supply tank. Check, tighten siphon hose connections, bleed air from paint line. Spitting spray. Worn diffuser-seat (10) or needle (14) ball. Inspect diffuser-seat and needle for wear. To improve sealing when spraying lightweight materials and sealing life when spraying acid catalyzed materials, use needle (SST) available with 1/8 in. See Parts, page 25. Dirty spray tip (9) or air cap (30). Fluid build-up or spray tip partially plugged. Clean. See page 15. On defective side of pattern, air horn Clean air horn holes with solvent and holes are partially or totally plugged. Pattern pushed to one side, same side of air cap gets dirty. Air horn holes partially or totally plugged. Clean air horn holes with solvent and soft brush. See page 15. 311052D 19 Service Service 4.
