[. . . ] Turn ON the green A- and R- heater switches. The lights within the switches will light up and the temperature controllers should begin to cycle toward their set points. If either set point needs to be changed, see page 23. IMPORTANT: Primary heating is almost instantaneous. Do not turn on the primary heaters until required for operation. Turn off the primary heaters during shutdowns exceeding one half-hour. WARNING: TO PREVENT EXCESSIVE PRESSURE BUILDUP IN THE HEATED HOSES, ALWAYS BRING THE HOSE UP TO THE SET POINT TEMPERATURE BEFORE TURNING ON THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. 24 63942-1, Issue 2 Operating Manual Operation 12. Turn ON the green hydraulic motor switch. The light within the switch will light up. One of the amber directional indicator lights will light and the proportioning pumps should move a short distance and pressurize. NOTE: The pump switch must be in the RETRACT or NORMAL position to adjust the hydraulic pressure. 14. Adjust the hydraulic pressure as required. Check the pressure of each proportioning pump. After setting the pump switch to NORMAL, monitor both pressure gauges. The resin and isocyanate pressures should be approximately equal and the pressures must remain fixed. Set the pump switch to RETRACT and observe the pressures again; they must remain fixed. If the pressure bleeds off on either stroke, see Proportioning System on page 30 before continuing. To equalize the upstroke pressure, turn the pressure reducing valve counterclockwise until it equals the chemical pressure reading on the down stroke. The proportioning unit is now ready for operation. Consult the spray gun operating manual and test spray as per the directions. Daily Shut-down Procedure 1. Trigger the spray gun off target until the isocyanate proportioning pump stops in the retracted position and the pressure of both pumps bleeds off to a point where the spray pattern begins to diminish. IMPORTANT: DO NOT bleed the pressure to zero, as some pressure is required to keep the packings operating normally and prevent seepage during shutdown. Turn OFF the green hydraulic motor switch. Hydraulic Drive System The hydraulic drive system should be checked annually for cleanliness and the fluid changed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation.
