MEDIAEDGE® is a multi-channel, multilocation delivery system of high- or standard-definition (HD or SD) video and digital signage using standard TCP/ IP networks and HD/SD display devices. Comprised of server, encoder, client software, and SMIL-compliant set-top box (STB) components, this flexible and modular system is ideal for point-of-sale, corporate, and other video-retrieval and digital-signage applications.

The LEB supports both SD and HD resolution, which is detected automatically by the hardware.
Three Streaming Modes
The MEDIAEDGE-STB4H system lets you deliver video and signage content in three ways: on-demand, scheduled playback, and live broadcast. In a video-on-demand (VOD) application, users select video clips stored on the MEDIAEDGE-SVS4 server for viewing, either from a dynamically updated

MEDIAEDGE-STB4H Set-Top Box
Designed as a compact, SMIL-compliant network device, the MEDIAEDGE-STB4H provides multiple layers of video and multimedia display ideal for digital signage and/or video distribution. Supported media types include MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-2 HD (HDV), MPEG-4 (H. 264), JPEG, BMP PNG, GIF, MP3, HTML, , and plain text. Live data from RSS feeds is also supported.
The MEDIAEDGE-STB4H includes built-in MEDIAEDGE-STB4 menu browsing capabilities. It connects to a standard Ethernet network and provides HDMI, and composite RCA outputs. The STB also has a full-featured remote control for navigating dynamically updated content menus generated by a MEDIAEDGE-SVS4 server. The remote control also provides volume, pause, search-back, and search-forward functions.
