Receiving digital stations
To use your new DTR 4540 HDD digital recorder you need a digital outdoor or indoor antenna. Unlike analogue broadcasting, not every station has its own transmission frequency. Instead, several stations are grouped into what are known as bouquets on a regional or national level. You can find the current transmission information on teletext from various broadcasters, or look in a TV guide or on the Internet.
Recording digital stations
Television programmes can be recorded on the integrated hard drive of the digital recorder. [. . . ] All today's broadcasts are displayed. Press »P-«, »P+«, » « or » « to select the programmes to be recorded. Enter the selected programme in the timer recorder by pressing » « (red). Display: »Timer is running«, the programme data has been adopted. Confirm the programme with »OK«. The » « symbol is displayed behind the programmed broadcast in the »TV Guide« menu. Switch off the »TV Guide« with »i«. The digital recorder switches off at the preset time. The selected programme is stored in the archive. Caution: The digital recorder may not be switched off with the main power button. If the digital recorder is in standby mode before the timer starts, it switches back to standby when the timer has finished.
