Switching between your local time and dual time 1 Keep pressing »MODE« until the dual time appears in the display and » DUAL « flashes. ­ Display: dual time and » DUAL « continuously. 3 Keep pressing »MODE« until your own local time appears in the display and »HOME« flashes. ­ Display: your own local time and »HOME« continuously. Setting the dual time If you are on a trip, for example in Hong Kong, you can set the local time there without having to change your local time at home. Setting the alarm time 1 Keep pressing »MODE« until »ALARM« appears in the display. ­ Display: the hours and minutes flash. 3 Press »H A« repeatedly to set the hours step-by-step or hold down to run through quickly. 4 Press »M S« repeatedly to set the minutes step-by-step or hold down to run through quickly. 5 To store the setting, press »MEMO TIME SET«. 40 SETTINGS _____________________________________________________________ Tuning to radio stations There are three ways to tune into stations: automatically ­ with the station search, manually ­ with a step-by-step search through the frequencies, directly - by entering the frequency number. 1 Press »POWER« to switch on the device. 2 Press »FM MW SW1 SW2« to set the waveband. Note: If you have set short wave, select the band you want (see the table on page 26). Press »METER« repeatedly. Automatically 1 Keep pressing »H A« or »M S« until the frequency switches to rapid run-through. ­ The search stops when a station with good reception is found. 41 ENGLISH SETTINGS _____________________________________________________________ Manually 1 Keep pressing »H A« or »M S« until the frequency switches to rapid run-through. 2 When you have nearly reached the frequency you want, briefly press the opposite key (»M S« or »H A«). 3 Press »H A« or »M S« briefly several times to set the frequency step-by-step. Directly 1 Press »FREQ« briefly. [. . . ] 2 To unlock the keys, push back »a LOCK«. ­ Display: »LOCK« disappears. Display lighting 1 Select the display lighting by pressing »LIGHT« for about twelve seconds. 2 To switch off the display lighting, press »LIGHT«.
