Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] O This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Only use it in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. O Don't use any other electrical device inside the appliance to defrost. O Don't store goods containing inflammable or other explosive gases. [. . . ] Leave the freezer running with the door closed for approximately 4 hours before storing food. (When the thermostat is set to the Superfreeze position (`SF' position). the freezer motor stays constantly on. ) Only use the `SF' position for fast freezing food, otherwise set the thermostat dial to a midway position. Diagrams show alternative methods of providing correct air flow around the appliance. FIGURE 3 It is advisable to place a freezer thermometer (not supplied) inside the freezer to check that the temperature is maintained at 18°C to 20°C. Note: The setting on the thermostat control is dependent upon room temperature. If the temperature inside the freezer is above 18°C to 20°C, adjust the thermostat control towards MAX. FOOT SPANNER FIGURE 4 KEY THERMOSTAT CONTROL Page 3 Notes on operation During normal operation the following noises may be heard: O Stifled murmur from compressor when it is working. O Soft gurgling from the coolant flowing through the cooling system. O Click from the thermostat switching on and off. Door reversal This appliance has the facility to hang the door on the opposite side. Depending upon where you plan to locate the freezer, reversing the door may make access more convenient. Remove the screw, hinge cover, hinge screws and hinge (Figure 5). Lift the door off the lower hinge pin (Figure 6). Unscrew the lower hinge bracket screws and remove the lower hinge bracket (Figure 7). Undo the lower hinge pin and replace it in the adjacent hole in the bracket. See the Table above for storage times for a selection of foods. Page 5 Maintenance and cleaning Important The freezer must be turned off at the mains before maintaining or cleaning. Defrosting It is recommended to clean and wipe out the freezer after any spillage inside or outside the appliance. Caution: Do not touch ice with bare skin to avoid `ice burns'. It is wise to defrost the freezer if the ice build up exceeds 6mm, otherwise the efficiency of the freezer will reduce and the electricity consumption will increase. Defrost the freezer when the stock of frozen contents is low. Unplug the freezer and empty the frozen food into insulated bags or cardboard boxes covered with newspaper. Slide forward to pull out the drainage tube in the bottom of the freezer (Figure 8). Leave the door open and place bowls or any other suitable container under each shelf to catch the water from the melting ice. Bowls of hot water may be placed in the freezer to speed up defrosting. The plastic scraper can be used as an aid to defrosting. Important O Do not use electrical appliances such as heaters or hair dryers to melt the ice. O Do not use metal objects such as knives or skewers to chip away the ice as these can damage the freezer walls and cooling pipes. [. . . ] O Leave the door open do not close. Page 6 Troubleshooting Problem Temperature in freezer not cold enough Possible cause No power Door is open for too long Temperature control set to MIN Abnormal noise and vibration Freezer not level Condenser tubes touching cabinet or other parts Remedy Check fuse in plug Do not open door needlessly Turn control towards MAX Adjust feet to level the unit Carefully ease away tubes from other parts Fuse and mains plug replacement This product is supplied with a moulded plug which contains a 13A fuse. If you are simply replacing the fuse, you must use a 13A fuse which has been approved by ASTA to BS1362 (Figure 9). If the plug does not fit the socket or becomes damaged, a new plug must be fitted. Replace the original plug with the correct plug for your socket. [. . . ]
