The surfaces marked red below should be cleaned with the supplied brushes. 

Caution! [. . . ] When the indicator is in the rearmost position the greatest driving power is obtained from a cartridge,  in the foremost position the lowest driving power is obtained. Thanks to this means of power regulation only two cartridge power levels are required.

Note: The red cartridge covers 90 "/" ol all applications. The black cartridge is needed for the special fastening of steel to steel. 

Warranty
Hilti DX Tools Hilti Fasteners Hilti Cartridges
are integral parts of a technical system. Their combined functions make for optimum safety and quality. Hilti powderactuated tools are covered by a S-year warranty from the date of invoice for deficiencies in material or manufacture which cause premature wear or breakdown of the tool. This warranty coverage will be upheld if the tool is operated

correctly in accordance with the operating instructions,  if the tool is cleaned and serviced properly and the technical system is maintained.  [. . . ] Parts subject to normal wear and tear are not included in this warranty.
