Getting started 5. 1 Inserting alkaline / rechargeable batteries -CAUTION· Observe the polarity of the batteries. Screw battery compartment cover back, making sure thread is engaged to ensure complete closure to maintain dust and water protection. 5. 2 Switching the range meter on and off The range meter is switched on or off by pressing the "On / Off" key. After being switched on, the range meter is in the basic display mode. 5. 2. 1 Initial distance measurement Press the "Measure" key once. This will switch on the range meter and the laser beam if the range meter was switched off.
